RIGA, Jan 7 (LETA) - Of the 1,374 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, nearly 30 percent have been recorded in Riga, while another 10 percent in Daugavpils, according to the data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

The 408 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 3,483. In Daugavpils, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases reached 958, with 124 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.

The cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in Jekabpils rose to 364, with 61 cases recorded in the past 24 hours.

With 3,483 Covid-19 cases recorded in the past two weeks, Riga remains the municipality with the highest cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases, followed by Daugavpils with 958, and Rezekne with 463.

Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 618.1.
