RIGA, June 2 (LETA) - This year, 30 employers have been awarded the status of family-friendly workplaces by the Society Integration Foundation, as SIF representative Sabine Leingarde informed LETA.

These include public sector institutions, private companies and non-governmental organizations, which in their daily work care for well-being of employees, promote work-life balance, and create a supportive and inclusive working environment, said the Society Integration Foundation.

Of the employers that have been awarded the status this year, 13 have been awarded it for the first time, 14 have been awarded for the second time, and three organizations have been awarded the status for the third time.

Inese Kalvane, director of the Society Integration Foundation's secretariat, emphasizes that family-friendly work environment does not happen overnight - it is a conscious choice by the employer to invest in people, mutual trust and organizational culture over the long term.

This year's winners represent different regions and industries of Latvia. Most are organizations operating throughout Latvia and in Riga planning region.

This year, employers in public administration and defense, manufacturing, health and social care, trade, information and communication services, the financial sector and other sectors have been awarded the status.
