RIGA, Jan 17 (LETA) - 644 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Saturday in Latvia, according to the National Health Service's data.
Thus, almost the whole number of vaccines for the first round have been used up. Next week, the second round of vaccination will begin as medics who received the first dose of vaccines at the end of last year, will now get the second dose.
The Health Ministry's spokesman Oskars Sneiders said that next week vaccination will be organized in the same hospitals where it was started - in three university hospitals and three regional hospitals.
Thus, the total number of vaccinated persons in Latvia has reached 15,620.
According to the latest data, 1,359 people were immunized against the coronavirus on Monday, 1,618 on Tuesday, 1,502 on Wednesday, 1,688 on Thursday, and 1,780 on Friday. The National Health Service explains that the daily reports are regularly updated as data on vaccination may be entered in the E-Health system in one to five days after vaccination.
