Riga, Feb 23 (LETA) - Manufacturing companies in Liepaja have produced EUR 561 million worth of products, which is 5.1 percent of the total volume of Latvian industry, Evita Engele, public relations specialist of the Liepaja municipality, told LETA.

Compared to 2024, the volume of production increased by EUR 82.4 million or 17.2 percent, according to data compiled by the Development Administration of the Liepaja Central Administration.

The total sales reached EUR 577.9 million, an increase of EUR 82.1 million or 16.6 percent compared to 2024.

In 2025, the majority of Liepaja's industrial output sales - 76 percent or EUR 438.7 million - were exported goods. This is 14.9 percent more than a year earlier. At the same time, goods sold on the domestic market grew by 22 percent to EUR 139.2 million.

Comparing the 2025 industrial performance of the seven largest cities in the country, Liepaja maintained the second highest manufacturing output and sales volumes after Riga. Comparing production volumes with the number of employees in Liepaja's industrial enterprises, it is evident that in 2025 both the production and sales volumes and the number of jobs in the manufacturing industry increased, according to the municipality.
