Local governments invited to apply for EU funds for purchases of zero-emission vehicles
RIGA, Sept 26 (LETA) - The Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) of Latvia is repeatedly inviting local governments to apply for European Union financing for purchases of zero-emission vehicles, for which a total of EUR 16.2 million will be allocated, including EUR 13.78 million from the Just Transition Fund, as representatives of the CFCA informed LETA.
Under the program, developed by the Smart Administration and Regional Development Ministry, municipalities can use EU funds to purchase zero-emission vehicles to transport students to schools and provide social services.
Furthermore, such vehicles will also be used to transport cultural employees and amateur groups to cultural events and to improve access to healthcare services.
Applications can be submitted by municipalities in Kurzeme, Zemgale, Vidzeme and Latgale provinces, as well municipal institutions and companies.
Applications will be accepted from September 26 to January 31, 2025.
