Turnover of Getlini Eko down 9.2% in nine months
Riga, Nov 24 (LETA) - In the first nine months of this year, the operator of the Getlini landfill Getlini Eko generated a turnover of EUR 33.88 million, which is 9.2 percent less than in the same period last year, while the company's profit increased by 39.8 percent and amounted to EUR 2.589 million, according to information published by Getlini Eko.
In the first nine months of 2025, Getlini Eko revenues from waste management amounted to EUR 30.808 million, revenues from vegetable cultivation - EUR 2.171 million, revenues from electricity generation - EUR 887,000, and revenues from the sale of recycled raw materials - EUR 14,100.
According to the company's financial management report, Getlini Eko invested EUR 8.37 million in fixed assets in the first nine months of this year.
The management report also said that the amount of municipal waste accepted continued to fall in the first nine months of the year, reflecting increased waste sorting and changes in the waste management market.
Getlini Eco continued to extract waste gas, producing 16,101 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity, most of which was sold on the open market. The greenhouse complex also continued to operate, making good use of the heat produced and growing vegetables.
The management of the company notes that the economic activity and financial situation of Getlini Eko allows to plan stable operation and development of the company in the coming years.
At the same time, the financial position of Getlini Eko may be negatively affected by a decrease in waste volumes, which is largely influenced by the situation in the national economy, negative fluctuations in the electricity exchange price, as well as increasing requirements in the areas of environmental protection, waste recycling and reuse and other European Union regulations, the management report states.
In the first nine months of last year, Getlini Eko posted a turnover of EUR 37.323 million and a profit of EUR 1.852 million.
In 2024, Getlini Eko had an audited turnover of EUR 50.45 million, up 3.1 percent year-on-year, while its profit rose 19.6 percent to EUR 3.29 million.
Getlini Eko was established in 1997 with a share capital of EUR 6,008,569. The company's capital is 97.7 percent owned by Riga City Council and 2.3 percent by Ropazi municipality.
