Highest number of Latvia's new Covid-19 cases recorded in Riga and Madona region
RIGA, Aug 25 (LETA) - Out of the 249 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, 30 percent were recorded in Riga and the municipality of Madona reported quite a few cases as well, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 74 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 710, exceeding 700 mark for the first time since June 18.
Madona municipality reported 21 new Covid-19 cases and Jekabpils municipality reported 12 cases. Ropazi municipality reported 11 new cases, Ventspils and Kekava municipalities recorded nine cases each and a number of other municipalities reported fewer cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose to 96.6.
