There are 3,047 Ukrainian refugee children enrolled in schools in Latvia
RIGA, April 11 (LETA) - There are 3,047 Ukrainian refugee children enrolled in schools in Latvia, LETA learned from the Education and Science Ministry.
The majority or 1,545 Ukrainian children have been enrolled in preschools and schools of Riga, 147 in Ventspils, 134 in Valmiera municipality.
As many as 2,316 Ukrainian pupils go to general education schools, 1,135 pupils go into minority school programs, and 1,176 are in school programs organized in the Latvian language.
Also, 731 Ukrainian children are enrolled in preschools.
As reported, Russia unleashed a war in Ukraine on February 24, and millions of Ukrainians were forced to fled their home and country. Thousands of them are also arriving in Latvia.
