Precipitation in Madona has exceeded monthly average norm on Tuesday
RIGA, June 14 (LETA) - On Tuesday, the highest precipitation level was registered in Madona which received 75 millimeters or rain in 15 hours or 103 percent of the average for June, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center data.
Jekabpils received 71 millimeters, Gulbene - 62 millimiters, Skriveri - 61 millimeters. Precipitation level in Riga reached 24 millimeters.
The rain continues in eastern Latvia also in the evening.
As reported, a red-rainfall warning was in effect for Latgale, Selija and eastern Vidzeme, meaning the the rainfall could lead to flooding in some areas.
