Municipalities of Ventspils, Marupe, Madona, Kekava show highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia
RIGA, Dec 30 (LETA) - The municipalities of Ventspils, Marupe, Madona and Kekava are showing the highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia, according to the latest data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases rose to 557.4 per 100,000 population on Wednesday.
Over the past day, Covid-19 incidence in Ventspils municipality rose to 1,011.4 cases per 100,000 population. In Marupe municipality the rate of infections increased to 889.6 cases per 100,000 population, in Madona municipality - to 857.4 cases, in Kekava - to 837.8 cases, according to LETA's estimates.
In 15 municipalities, Covid-19 incidence currently exceeds Latvia's average number.
Of the 1,246 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 37 percent, or 462 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
