Most voters in Riga neighborhoods voted for New Unity and For Stability in 14th Saeima elections
RIGA, Oct 3 (LETA) - Riga neighborhoods voted two parties in the 14th Saeima elections - New Unity and For Stability, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
New Unity emerged victorious in 30 Riga neighborhoods, while For Stability - in six.
For Stability was the top choice with the voters in Daugavgriva, Rumbula, Kengarags, Bolderaja, Vecmilgravis and Plavnieki neighborhoods of Riga, while New Era won in all other neighborhoods of the city.
According to the Election Commission's data, New Unity was popular with voters in all neighborhoods of Riga, and even in those where most voters supported For Stability, New Unity took more than 5 percent of the vote.
On the other hand, For Stability was one of the least popular parties in a number of Riga neighborhoods, for instance, it took less than 2 percent of the vote in Atgazeene, Mezaparks and Bierini, less than 3 percent of the vote in Mangalsala, Bukulti, Tornakalns and Brasa. In all, Stability took less than 5 percent of the vote in 14 neighborhoods of Riga.
New Era was the most popular party in Bierini, where it took 34.1 percent of the vote, while For Stability in Daugavgriva, where it was supported by 22.2 percent of voters.
