Possibility of our hospital to admit Covid-19 patients is restricted - Rezekne mayor
RIGA, Dec 21 (LETA) - The possibility of Rezekne hospital to admit Covid-19 patients is restricted, said the city's mayor Aleksandrs Bartasevics (Harmony) in a press conference on Monday.
He said that the hospital is treating 40-50 Covid-19 patients, most of them are not in a severe condition. He said that the patients in the most severe condition are transferred to Riga.
"Our possibilities are limited," he said, adding that the hospital also lacks isolated roms.
Even though there have been Covid-19 cases among the hospital staff, this has not caused an outbreak, and many of the medics have already returned back to work.
The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) data suggest that in the past two weeks, 235 new Covid-19 cases have been registered in Rezekne.
