    Covid-19 incidence in Kekava and Marupe rises above 8,000 cases per 100,000 population

    RIGA, Feb 3 (LETA) - In the central Latvian municipalities of Kekava and Marupe, cumulative  two-week Covid-19 incidence has exceeded 8,000 cases per 100,000 population, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

    In the city of Jelgava and Adazi municipality, the rate of infections is above 7,000 cases per 100,000 population. 

    Across Latvia, cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 5,190.1 per 100,000 population. Besides the aforementioned municipalities, Covid-19 incidence exceeds Latvia's average also in Olaine municipality, Riga, the municipalities of Ropazi, Salaspils and Jelgava, Daugavpils City and the municipality of Bauska. 

    Incidence rates have stayed below 2,000 cases per 100,000 population only in the municipalities of Varaklani, Dienvidkurzeme and Aluksne. 

    Of the 10,610 Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia on Tuesday, 35 percent, or 3,752 cases were recorded in Riga.
