Latvian citizens with large stocks of Belarusian cigarettes detained in Latgale
RIGA, Dec 20 (LETA) - This past weekend, Latvian citizens with large stocks of Belarusian cigarettes were detained in Latvia's eastern Latgale region, LETA learned from the State Border Guard.
On December 18, border guards stopped a Volvo V70 car on local road in Liksna municipality of Augsdaugava region with two Latvian citizens who transported contraband cigarettes.
Border guards discovered 42,200 Premjer cigarettes with Belarus excide labels in the car.
A criminal procedure has been started for large-scale contraband.
