Linkaits to make regional visit to Liepaja and Dienvidkurzeme municipality
RIGA, May 26 (LETA) - Transport Minister Talis Linkaits (Conservatives) today will make a regional visit to Kurzeme region, LETA learned from the Transport Ministry.
The minister will meet with representatives of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone, visit former territory of Liepajas Metalurgs steelworks in which environment friendly for business investments is being developed, including companies working at Liepaja port.
Linkaits will also visit Liepaja port and learn about Karosta canal projects and discuss other issues related with the port's development.
During a meeting with administration of Dienvidkurzeme municipality, the minister will discuss handing over the state roads to the municipality and the upcoming road infrastructure projects.
When meeting Liepaja City Council, Linkaints plans to discuss improving the connection between Riga and Liepaja and improving mobility for the city's residents.
