Most of registered unemployed in Latvia have professional qualification
Riga, Sept 28 (LETA) - The State Employment Agency reported that the largest number of unemployed people in Latvia at the end of August - 13,583 - had a professional education.
Of the unemployed with professional education, 6,807 were men and 6,776 were women.
A total of 11,095 unemployed people had higher education at the end of August - 3,426 men and 7,669 women. On the other hand, 10,446 of all unemployed persons registered in the country at the end of August had general secondary education, of whom 4,895 were men and 5,551 were women.
As reported, the unemployment rate registered by the agency at the end of August was 4.9 percent, which is 0.1 percentage point lower than at the end of July. At the end of August 2025, the agency registered a total of 43,011 unemployed people, which is 883 fewer than a month earlier, when the agency registered 43,894 unemployed people.
