Latvian Association of Regions, represented by council chairman, won most votes in Adazi municipality
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The Latvian Association of Regions, represented by the incumbent council chairperson Karina Mikelsone, has collected the largest number of votes in the local elections in Adazi municipality, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).
Counting the votes in all nine polling stations in Adazi municipality, the party represented by the incumbent chairwoman received 35.4 percent of the votes, which gives it six out of 15 seats in the council.
Seven of the eight parties that stood for election in the municipality this year have been elected to the council. 15.69 percent of voters voted for the Union of Greens and Farmers, 14.83 percent for the joint list of the National Alliance and the New Conservative Party, and 10.06 percent for Latvia First. These parties won two seats each in the Adazi regional council.
The Progressives followed with 6.99 percent of the vote, the party alliance Sovereign Power/Union of New Latvians with 5.84 percent and Latvia's Green Party with 5.46 percent. Each of these lists won one seat in the council.
The voter turnout in Adazi reached 53.8 percent.
