RIGA, Dec 21 (LETA) - The municipalities of Ventspils, Salaspils and Madona are currently showing the highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has increased to 530.2 per 100,000 population. 

Over the past day, Covid-19 incidence in Ventspils dropped to 900.1 cases per 100,000 population. In Salaspils the rate of infections rose 835.2 cases per 100,000 population and in Madona municipality Covid-19 incidence rose to 780.7 cases per 100,000 population.

In 18 municipalities, the number of active Covid-19 infections currently exceeds Latvia's average number.

Of the 991 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 36 percent, or 356 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
