Skudra becomes Mayor of Rezekne municipality
Riga, June 20 (LETA) - Guntars Skudra (New Unity/For/Latgale Party/New Conservative Party), who has been heading the education and sports administration board of the municipality, was elected chairman of the Rezekne regional council on Friday.
In total, 14 out of 15 deputies took part in the voting. One ballot paper was declared invalid.
11 lawmakers voted for Skudra.
Two lawmakers voted for the other candidate for the post, Jekaterina Ivanova (Together for Latvia).
The joint list of the New Unity, For, Latgale Party and New Conservative Party won the local elections in Rezekne municipality and Skudra was selected as the mayoral candidate.
