Covid-19 continues to spread in Riga's education institutions
RIGA, Jan 25 (LETA) - Covid-19 has continued to spread in Riga's education institutions over the past week, LETA was told at the city's education, culture and sports department.
A week ago, distance learning was ordered for 63 schools. This week, the number of such schools has decreased to 60. However, the number of student groups learning partly or fully from home has grown from 350 last week to 450 this week.
Covid-19 incidence in Riga's kindergartens rose significantly, with the number of preschools reporting Covid-19 infections growing from 22 last week to 45 this week. A total of 91 preschool groups are currently affected by Covid-19.
At Riga State Gymnasium No.2, the education process is being organized partly remotely, with students switching to distance learning on a rotational basis, the department said.
