RIGA, April 2 (LETA) - In this year's local elections, the Movement For! will be fielding candidates in seven municipalities of Latvia, the movement's members informed Tuesday.

Candidates from the Movement For! electoral list will be running for seats on local councils in Ogre Municipality, Jelgava, Rezekne, Liepaja, Riga, Cesis Municipality and Ventspils.

The political organization plans to participate in the local elections both with its own electoral lists and joint lists with parties such as New Unity and the New Conservative Party.

The common goal for all municipal council elections will be to work on civil protection and activation of civil society.

Members of the Movement For! currently serve on the city councils of Riga, Ventspils, Liepaja and Jelgava, as well as the municipal councils of Ogre and Rezekne.
