Number of new companies registered in Latvia increased by 13.3% in nine months
Riga, Oct 6 (LETA) - A total of 7,871 new companies were registered in Latvia in the first nine months of this year, which is 13.3 percent or 923 companies more than in the corresponding period of 2024, according to data compiled by Lursoft.
In September 2025, 990 new companies were registered, 129 more than in August this year and 211 more than in September last year.
The total share capital of new companies registered in September amounted to EUR 3.91 million.
Lursoft noted that September saw the highest number of new companies registered this year.
Lursoft also informed that the absolute majority or 91 percent of all new companies registered in September are limited liability companies, while another 7.5 percent are sole traders. Last month also saw the registration of six new farms in Latvia, four limited partnerships and branches of foreign companies, two cooperative societies and one joint stock company.
The Top 10 largest new companies registered in September by share capital were Flagman Payments with EUR 700,000, V Puse with EUR 300,000, Opticargo with EUR 254,000, Online Shopping by Viktorija with EUR 200,000, GK Capital with EUR 185,000, SK Events with EUR 152,380, Valguma Rezidence with EUR 150,000, Baltic Cargo Services with EUR 109,000, Ice Birojs with EUR 100,000 and HSFI with EUR 100,000.
New companies were registered in all Latvian municipalities last month. The smallest number of new companies, one each, was registered in Preili and Valka, while two new companies were registered in both Kraslava and Saulkrasti in September.
The municipalities with the highest number of new companies registered in September are Riga with 454 companies, Marupe with 44 companies, Ogre with 32 companies, Jurmala with 31 companies, Daugavpils with 29 companies, Tukums with 26 companies, Liepaja with 26 companies, Kekava with 26 companies, Ropazi with 25 companies and Valmiera with 24 companies.
At the same time, 6,296 companies were liquidated in the first nine months of this year.
