Volunteers in Riga make calls to seniors to inform them about vaccination opportunities
RIGA, Nov 9 (LETA) - Since Monday volunteers and municipal employees in Riga are making calls to the city's senior residents to inform them about vaccination opportunities, LETA was told at the city council's press office.
The volunteers inquire the seniors about the reasons preventing vaccination against Covid-19 and encourage them to protect themselves and take the jab.
The people included in the information campaign include employees of the education, culture and sports department, Riga's libraries and The Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre, as well as representatives of The Imants Ziedonis Foundation.
The Riga government has concluded agreements with said organizations on the receipt and use of sensitive data and provides instructions to the volunteers.
There are currently around 52,000 unvaccinated seniors in Riga.
