Latvia's Association of Local Governments has become associate partner of European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine
RIGA, Aug 24 (LETA) - Latvia's Association of Local Governments )LPS) has become an associate partner of the The European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, thus, demonstrating solidarity with Ukraine, LETA learned from the association.
Latvia's delegation at the European Committee of the Regions shortly after Russian unleashed the war in Ukraine, called on member states to start planning reconstruction of Ukraine.
"In these six months, Latvian local governments and residents have provided assistance to Ukrainian municipalities and their residents, sending humanitarian aid, and helping Ukrainian refugees here in Latvia," said LPS chairman Gints Kaminskis.
The alliance was established by the European Committee of the Regions and its partners, which is a significant step towards Ukraine's integration into the EU.
