Highest number of new Covid-19 cases registered in Riga, Daugavpils and Liepaja
RIGA, Jan 28 (LETA) - Out of the 965 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, nearly 50 percent have been recorded in Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, Gulbene region and Jelgava, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 282 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 3,469. In Daugavpils, 68 new cases brought the 14-day number of Covid-19 cases to 858. In Liepaja, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases reached 282, with 35 cases discovered in the past 24 hours.
The Gulbene region registered 32 new Covid-19 cases, as its 14-day incidence rose to 250 cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 577.1.
