Early voting in Latvia's local elections starts this afternoon
RIGA, June 2 (LETA) - Early voting in Latvia's 2025 local elections is due to start at 17:00 on Monday, LETA was told at the Central Election Commission.
Today, early voting will start at 948 polling stations across Latvia.
Like on the election day, which is June 7, voters can cast their ballots at any polling station of their choice in their respective municipality.
During the early voting, polling stations will be open from 17:00 to 20:00 on Monday, June 2, from 8:00 to 11:00 on Tuesday, June 3, from 17:00 to 20:00 on Wednesday, June 4, from 8:00 to 11:00 on Thursday, June 5, and from 12:00 to 15:00 on Friday, June 6.
Those eligible voters that are unable to arrive at polling stations due to health issues, can apply for voting at home from Monday until 12:00 Saturday.
For the first time, this election will also include the possibility of voting outside the polling stations, which will also start today. Altogether, 11 municipalities have informed the Central Election Commission that they will be providing such an option in this year's local elections.
As reported, the local elections in Latvia will take place on the first Saturday of June, namely, June 7.
