300 Ukrainians and Latvians engaged in integration project in Riga for EUR 13,000
Riga, Jan 7 (LETA) - The project, which involved 300 Ukrainians and Latvians in integration-enhancing activities for seven months at a total cost of EUR 12,920, ended in December last year, LETA was informed by the project organizers - the charitable association Tavi Draugi (Your Friends) and the Riga neighborhood organization.
The project took place from June to December last year and aimed to support the integration of Ukrainian residents living in Riga into Latvian society and the labor market.
During seven months, Ukrainians, together with other residents of Latvia, had the opportunity to participate in 86 different activities free of charge. Participants took part in lectures and seminars, Latvian language conversation and improvisation club sessions, and creative workshops.
The project also included seven educational lectures on socio-economic topics such as economic activity, employment and rental contracts, or advertising on social networks.
In addition, 14 workshops were held during the seven months of the project, where participants learned to make various handicrafts and interior elements. In total, more than 170 people attended these sessions.
The project was funded by the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
