The party alliance represented by incumbent council chairman gets the most votes in Aizkraukle municipality
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The joint list of For Latvia's Development and Vidzeme Party, represented by the incumbent mayor Leons Lidums, has won the most votes in the municipal elections in Aizkraukle district, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).
The National Alliance is currently in second place with 28.62 percent, having provisionally won five seats.
Next with 14.1 percent of the votes is New Unity, while 11.39 percent of the voters voted for the Union of Greens and Farmers/Latvia's Green Party. Both political forces have won two seats in the regional council.
The other parties in Aizkraukle have not broken the barrier to win seats.
The voter turnout in Aizkraukle reached 38.4 percent.
