    Highest number of Latvia's new Covid-19 cases recorded in Riga and Valmiera municipality

    RIGA, Sept 30 (LETA) - Of the 1,208 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 27 percent have been recorded in Riga and around 10 percent in Valmiera municipality, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) informed.

    The capital city's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases rose to 2,921, with 326 of these cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.

    The 128 new cases recorded in Valmiera municipality brought the city's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases to 462, the highest figure reported in this municipality after the territorial reform. 

    Jekabpils municipality registered 46 new Covid-19 cases, Daugavpils registered 43, Ventspils 36, Jurmala, Ogre and Ropazi municipality each registered 33 cases, Liepaja and Cesis municipality each registered 32 and Rezekne municipality registered 30 cases. A number of other municipalities registered fewer cases. 

    Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population grew to 486.5.
