Public transport in Riga will be free of charge on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
Riga, Dec 29 (LETA) - On December 31 and January 1 all passengers will be able to use Riga public transport free of charge, moreover, on New Year's Eve additional bus, trolleybus and tram runs will be provided, Rigas Satiksme municipal public transport company informed LETA.
On New Year's Eve, December 31, and New Year's Day, January 1, Riga residents and guests will be able to use public transport free of charge.
On December 31 and January 1, the Riga municipal parking lots managed by Rigas Satiksme will be free of charge, except for the underground parking lot at Valdemara Street 5a, where parking is charged according to the current tariffs.
On January 2, public transport will run on weekend schedule. Parking will also be charged according to Saturday rates, except at Valdemara Street 5a, where parking will be charged according to Friday rates.
