RIGA, Oct 2 (LETA) - In the first nine months of this year, a total of 6,948 new companies were registered in Latvia, which is 3.4 percent or 227 companies more than in the corresponding period of 2023, according to data compiled by Lursoft.

In September, 779 new companies were registered, which is 75 more than in August this year and 53 more than in September last year.

The total share capital of companies registered in September amounts to EUR 28.27 million.

Of the new companies registered in September, 691 were limited liability companies.

The largest companies by share capital registered in September were JA Hold with EUR 26.59 million, Robezu Nami with EUR 320,000, JM Rental with EUR 180,000, Merito Private Equity with EUR 100,000, Senci Industrial with EUR 100,000, Kale Space with EUR 25,000, FEPS Latvija with EUR 25,000, Entrum with EUR 25,000, Prime Logistics with EUR 19,000, Tourmaline with EUR 10,000 and EUR RDZ Dzirnavas with EUR 10,000.

The municipalities with the highest number of new companies registered in are Riga with 340 companies, Marupe municipality with 29 companies, Ogre municipality with 26 companies, Jurmala with 26 companies, Liepaja with 24 companies, Ropazi municipality with 19 companies, Jelgava with 19 companies, Cesis municipality with 18 companies, Dienvidkurzeme municipality with 15 companies, Jelgava municipality with 15 companies, and Kekava municipality with 15 companies.
