Upenieks re-elected chairman of Kraslava Region Council
RIGA, June 26 (LETA) - Kraslava Region Council re-elected Gunars Upenieks (Latvian Farmers' Union) as chairman of the council by twelve votes to three on Thursday.
Two councilors voted for the other candidate, Dmitrijs Zalbovics (New Conservative Party), eight voted against his candidacy and four abstained.
The Union of Greens and Farmers took 41.42 percent of the vote in local elections in Kraslava Region, winning seven seats on Kraslava Region Council.
