Covid-19 incidence in 15 municipalities above Latvia's average - CDC
RIGA, Feb 21 (LETA) - Covid-19 incidence in 15 municipalities is currently exceeding Latvia's average rate of infections, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The highest Covid-19 incidence remains in the central Latvian city of Jelgava which in the past 14 days has recorded 10,098.3 cases per 100,000 population. In Kekava, the rate of infections exceeds 8,000 cases per 100,000 population, and Covid-19 incidence in the municipalities of Ropazi, Olaine Marupe and Talsi, as well as Riga surpasses 8,000 cases per 100,000 population.
Latvia's cumulative two-week Covid-19 incidence has dropped to 7,175 cases per 100,000 population.
Of the 6,776 Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 37 percent, or 2,524 cases have been recorded in Riga.
