    Riga public transport carries by 5.5% more passengers in September

    RIGA, Oct 14 (LETA) - In September this year 10,606,593 passengers used Riga public transport, which is 5.5 percent more than in September last year, Rigas Satiksme municipal public transport company's spokeswoman Baiba Bartasevica-Feldmane informed LETA.

    In September Rigas Satiksme carried a total of 4,667,770 bus passengers, 3,561,429 trolleybus passengers and 2,377,394 tram passengers.

    The most popular tram route again this year was Route 1, which carried 1,101,923 passengers. The most popular bus route was Route 3 with 661,899 passengers, while the highest number of trolleybus passengers was carried on Route 15 - 557,375 passengers.

    Night public transport in Riga, with three bus routes running from the city center to major neighborhoods, carried 2,128 passengers.

    In 2023, Riga Satiksme had a turnover of EUR 184.044 million and a profit of EUR 1.838 million.

    Fully owned by Riga City Council, Rigas Satiksme provides bus, tram and trolleybus services to passengers in Riga.
