Almost all residents at Kisi nursing home in Tukums Region test positive for Covid-19
RIGA, Jan 5 (LETA) - Almost all residents at Kisi nursing home in Tukums Region had tested positive for Covid-19 by Monday, as the Welfare Ministry's senior expert Egita Dorozkina told LETA.
Several dozen Kisi residents tested positive for Covid-19 at the beginning of December. By the beginning of January, 81 Kisi residents had tested positive for Covid-19, while one resident died of the coronavirus. According to the Welfare Ministry, a total of 89 residents, people with serious mental illnesses, were living at Kisi at the beginning of December.
Eight Kisi employees have also tested positive for Covid-19. Most Kisi residents and employees who have tested positive for Covid-19 are asymptomatic.
According to the Disease Prevention and Control Center's data, the fourteen-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Tukums Region currently stands at 200.
