RIGA, Feb 10 (LETA) - The registered unemployment rate in Latvia at the end of January was 5.2 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.2 percentage points higher than a month earlier, according to information published by the State Employment Agency (NVA).

At the end of January, a total of 45,729 people were registered as unemployed with the NVA, which is 2,057 more than a month earlier, when 43,672 unemployed people were registered with the agency.

The lowest registered unemployment rate at the end of January was still in the Riga region - 3.9 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.2 percentage points more than month earlier, while the highest registered unemployment rate was in the Latgale region - 10.5 percent, up 0.4 percentage points from the end of December 2025.

In Kurzeme, the registered unemployment rose 0.3 percentage points to 5.8 percent of the economically active population, the registered unemployment rate in Zemgale increased 0.3 percentage points to 5.2 percent, and in Vidzeme the registered unemployment rate rose 0.4 percentage points and was 5 percent.

At the end of 2025, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5 percent of the economically active population.
