Actual unemployment rate in Latvia rises to 7.3% in February
RIGA, March 18 (LETA) - Latvia recorded a 7.3 percent actual unemployment rate for February 2025, which rose by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Tuesday.
Compared to February 2024, the unemployment rate remained unchanged.
Unemployment rate for women did not change, staying at 5.7 percent, and for men increased by 0.2 percentage points, up to 8.9 percent.
In February 2025, there were 67,500 officially jobless people in Latvia, which is 800 people more than in January but 1,800 fewer than in February 2024. Over the month, the number of unemployed men rose by 600 to 40,900, and the number of jobless women grew by 200 to 26,600.
The jobless rate registered with the State Employment Agency was 5.7 percent at the end of February, up 0.2 percentage points from January. Compared to February 2024, registered unemployment declined by 0.1 percentage points.
