Another 35 inmates of Jelgava Prison test positive for Covid-19
RIGA, April 16 (LETA) - Another 35 inmates at Jelgava Prison have tested positive for Covid-19, LETA was told at the Latvian Prison Administration.
The infected persons have been isolated from the rest of inmates and their contacts are being traced. The quarantine that was declared at the prison earlier this month remains in force until April 30.
As LETA reported on April 9, Jelgava Prison, which in November last year became the first jail in Latvia to report a Covid-19 case, is in quarantine again after the discovery of four new cases.
A special commission was set up at the Prison Administration to coordinate quarantine measures at Jelgava Prison.
