Rigas Udens water facility plans to raise tariffs in October
RIGA, Aug 4 (LETA) - Municipal water utility Rigas Udens plans to raise water supply and sewage service tariffs as of October 1, according to the draft tariff plan submitted to the Public Utilities Commission.
The water supply tariff will be increased from EUR 1.02 to EUR 1.15 per cubic meter, excluding value added tax, or by 12.75 percent, while sewage service tariff will be raised from EUR 0.91 to EUR 1.11 or by 21.98 percent.
The tariff changes are related with power, heating in natural gas tariff hikes, the company said.
Rigas Udens last year posted EUR 55.832 million in turnover and EUR 5.516 million in profit.
Rigas Udens is the largest water supply company in Latvia, and operates the water supply and wastewater infrastructure in Riga and a few surrounding towns. In 2021, there were 650,000 people in its service area, with 98 percent being connected to the water supply and wastewater collection systems.
