Highest number of Latvia's new Covid-19 cases recorded in Riga, Daugavpils, Gulbene, Smiltene
RIGA, Aug 31 (LETA) - Out of the 237 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, 30 percent were recorded in Riga, while Daugavpils, Gulbene and Smiltene also reported quite a few cases as well, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 72 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 771.
Daugavpils reported 16 new Covid-19 cases, Gulbene and Smiltene municipalities reported 12 cases each, Ventspils - 11 cases, Ropazi municipality - nine and a number of other municipalities reported fewer cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose to 122.1.
