More than 8,300 senior citizens over 70 today will receive invitation to Covid-19 vaccination

RIGA, Feb 25 (LETA) - More than 8,300 senior citizens over 70 will receive invitations to vaccination and will be asked to contact their family physicians for the procedure, Vaccination Bureau representative Agnese Strazda reported.

The invitations will be sent out by SMS and e-mail registered on manavakcina.lv portal or by phone 8989. The invitations have been sent out to those residents who chose to receive vaccines in the territory where their family physicians are registered and the family physicians have chosen to ensure vaccination.

In total, 521 family physicians have applied to organize vaccination.

At the end of last week, invitations had been sent out to the first group of senior citizens, inviting them to register for vaccination in three hospitals in Riga.

Vaccination in Latvia is organized based on priority group principle. At present vaccination of the third priority group - senior citizens over 70 - has been started.
