Riga City Council plans to promote waste sorting
RIGA, Nov 21 (LETA) - The Riga City Council plans to promote waste sorting in the city, according to the legislative amendments to be discussed by the council's housing and environment committee next week.
The amendments should ensure that sorting of waste is made more accessible for residents. Also, responsibilities and duties of the parties engaged in waste sorting will be strengthened.
According to the amendments, it will be the duty of housing managers to ensure that sorting of waste is possible for residents of multiapartment houses.
Also, it will be possible to sort waste also by shopping centers, fuel stations and self-service car wash facilities.
