Up to EUR 100 million could be invested in development of Liepaja military fleet
RIGA, Sept 6 (LETA) - Up to EUR 100 million could be invested in development of Liepaja military fleet, Defense Minister Artis Pabriks told the press after the government meeting today.
The fleet development project is being held in cooperation with NATO, and Pabriks said that the total costs could reach EUR 50-100 million. The Defense Ministry hopes to attract financing from the NATO funds for the project.
As reported, the Defense Ministry plans to form one military base in Liepaja, joining all units deployed in Liepaja city in one location.
