Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry concerned about quality of new municipal development documents
RIGA, Feb 24 (LETA) - As some municipalities refuse to participate in work on the development documents for the new municipalities, there are concerns about the quality of these documents, said Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry's deputy state secretary Ilze Osa at the Saeima subcommittee meeting to discuss the municipal system improvement.
Osa reported on the progress of the administrative territorial reform, and informed that the ministry has developed methodology on merging of the municipalities.
She said that in some cases municipalities refuse to cooperate in development of joint planning documents, failing to provide the necessary information to the responsible municipality. In such a case, there are concerns about the quality of the developed documents.
