More than third of Latvia's new Covid-19 cases recorded in Riga
RIGA, Oct 18 (LETA) - Out of the 1,253 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, more than a third were reported in Riga, with many cases discovered also in Daugavpils and Jekabpils Region, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 471 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 7,682.
Daugavpils and Jekabpils Regions each registered 70 new cases as the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases grew to 1,700 in Daugavpils and 776 in Jekabpils.
Liepaja reported 46 new cases, Madona Regionl 43, Rezekne 38, Salaspils Region 37, Jelgava Region and Ogre Region each registered 33 cases and Valmiera Region 31. A number of other municipalities registered fewer cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population grew 1,307.2, according to LETA's estimates based on CDC data.
