Ukrainian refugee children slightly more often choose education in Latvian language
RIGA, May 9 (LETA) - At present, there are 4,021 Ukrainian refugee children attending education institutions in Latvia, LETA learned from the Education and Science ministry.
As many as 2,823 Ukrainian children attend general education schools, including 1,357 children who participate in programs of minority schools, and 1,461 children in schools with the Latvian language of instruction. Five Ukrainian children are attending schools of other categories.
Also, 1,198 Ukrainian children are attending preschool education institutions, including 380 children in programs of minority schools and 814 in schools with Latvian language, and four children is schools of other categories.
Most of the Ukrainian refugee children are attending schools in Riga (1,988), followed by Ventspils (172), Valmiera municipality (154).
