Riga, Jan 19 (LETA) - The number of nights spent by guests in Latvian hotels and other tourist accommodations increased by 6.2 percent in the first 11 months of last year compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 4.631 million, according to data of the Central Statistical Bureau.

The number of nights spent by foreign guests in Latvian hotels and other tourist accommodations in the first 11 months of 2025 increased by 8.5 percent year-on-year to 2.857 million, while the number of nights spent by local residents in Latvian hotels and other tourist accommodations increased by 2.6 percent to 1.774 million.

In total, 2.627 million guests stayed in Latvian tourist accommodation establishments in the first 11 months of last year, 4.6 percent more than in the first 11 months of 2024, including a 5.5 percent increase in the number of foreign guests to 1.557 million, and a 3.2 percent increase in the number of local residents to 1.07 million.

However, compared to the same period in 2019, the number of guests staying in Latvian tourist accommodation establishments in the first 11 months of last year is 1.4 percent lower, including 14.4 percent fewer foreign guests, while the number of local residents staying in Latvian tourist accommodation establishments is 26.6 percent higher. At the same time, the number of nights spent by guests is 9.9 percent behind 2019 figures, including 20.5 percent by foreign guests.

A total of 172,800 guests were accommodated in Latvian tourist hostels in November, 0.2 percent more than in November 2024, including a 2.7 percent decrease to 99,700 foreign guests and a 4.4 percent increase to 73,100 domestic guests.

The data also show that the number of nights spent by guests in Latvian hotels and other tourist accommodations last November decreased by 0.3 percent compared to November 2024 to 298,600, including a 1.5 percent decrease in the number of nights spent by foreign guests to 179,400 and a 1.5 percent increase in the number of nights spent by local residents to 119,100.
