Most of new Covid-19 cases were registered in Riga, Daugavpils, Jelgava and Rezekne
RIGA, Dec 13 (LETA) - Of the 629 new Covid-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours, most were registered in Riga, Daugavpils, Jelgava and Rezekne, according to the data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Riga reported 178 new Covid-19 cases, which increased the capital city's 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases to 3,144.
The latest 129 cases in Daugavpils brings the 14-day cumulative number in Latvia's second largest city to 1,155. Rezekne registered 30 new infections, with the total number growing to 160.
In Jelgava, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases rose to 393, with 19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
Riga, Daugavpils and Jelgava reported also the largest number of Covid-19 cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 has reached 453.1.
As reported, Latvia confirmed 629 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, while another 25 patients died of the coronavirus disease, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
This has been the largest number of Covid-19-related deaths registered in a day. The previous largest number was 16 registered on December 8. Latvia's total Covid-19 death toll has this grown to 349.
Of the latest Covid-19 victims, one was 45-50 years old, eight were 60-70 years old, nine were 70-80 years old, six were 80-90 years old, and one was 90-95 years old.
