Number of new companies registered in Latvia increased by 11.1% in four months
RIGA, May 12 (LETA) - A total of 3,907 new companies were registered in Latvia in the first four months of this year, which is 11.1 percent more than in the corresponding period of 2025, according to data compiled by Lursoft.
In April 2026, 934 new companies were registered, up 13.5 percent from April 2025.
According to Lursoft, the total share capital of new companies registered this April reached EUR 2.83 million.
Over the past month, 837 new limited liability companies (SIA), 86 sole proprietorships, six branches of foreign companies, four farms, and one cooperative were registered.
Lursoft found that April saw not only the lowest number of new companies registered in a single month this year, but also the lowest total share capital. The highest total registered share capital in the first months of 2026 was in February, when EUR 7.8 million were invested in the share capital of 953 new companies.
In April, the largest newly registered company, with a share capital of EUR 550,000, was Inpo 32, founded by Privato Aktivu Parvalde, which is indirectly owned by the family of former prime minister Andris Skele, who currently holds shares in 16 companies.
BraMil in Ventspils municipality was also registered in April with a share capital of more than EUR 500,000. The company’s sole shareholder is BraDava, which operates in the sea fishing sector and had a turnover of just under EUR 11 million in 2024. Lursoft notes that, aside from BraMil, only one other company was registered in Ventspils municipality last month - D J E Group with a share capital of EUR 300. This year, a total of 18 new companies have been registered in Ventspils municipality, while 11 have been liquidated.
The third-largest new company last month was Pavasara Laiks, in which EG Investments invested EUR 500,000. EG Investments, owned by Ervins Grinfelds, is also a shareholder in TestDevLab and AE Invest.
According to Lursoft,"46.1 percent of all new companies registered in April were established in the capital. The second-highest number of new companies last month was registered in Marupe municipality (32), followed by Jelgava and Daugavpils with 29 companies each. Data compiled by Lursoft shows that new companies were registered in all of Latvia’s municipalities last month.
