Highest amounts of precipitation registered in Skriveri, Madona, Jekabpils and Jelgava so far
RIGA, June 14 (LETA) - From midnight to noon on Tuesday, the highest amounts of precipitation were registered at weather stations in Skriveri, Madona and Jekabpils, where it amounted to 47-50 millimeters or more than 60 percent of the monthly norm, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
In Stalgene, Jelgava Region, precipitation amount has reached 49 millimeters since Monday evening.
Precipitation level in Riga has amounted to 23 millimeters. On the other hand, it has not rained in most of Kurzeme.
Last night, the heaviest rain was observed in Zemgale province. Several residents of Jelgava Region posted pictures of flooded yards and gardens on social networks.
